Wall Street seems to be making a comeback! Last month, the finance sector added 6,000 jobs, compensating for the 5,000 jobs lost in January. In addition, the unemployment rate in the industry decreased from 6.9% in January to 5.3% in February. There’s also been tremendous growth in accounting jobs, which increased by 12,500 in January and 7,300 in February. Virtually all employers require accountants who can assist with taxes, audits, and regulation, so they are in high demand. Other industries that are doing well include real estate, which gained 5,400 jobs in February and commercial banking, which added 2,800 jobs. Hopefully we will see even better figures for March!
